‘A Symbol Doesn’t Represent’

A symbol should be understood in the context of your life, it is not a road sign, not a piece of information. If it informs something it should inform experience, experience that you already have. So a symbol represents your condition, I say that a symbol doesn’t represent to jolt you because it’s important to understand the meaning of what I say. May be I should call this painting ‘This is not a Road Sign’, but then there is no way in for you to discover something.

Saying that a symbol represents something is the wrong understanding of a symbol. Because what I’m talking about here isn’t representing an abstraction. I am trying to explain the common basis of the mind. The context of the representation of this symbol should be your life, because if you are a painter you are painter weather you paint or not. So there is never any problem of thinking of what to paint. There is nothing to achieve, you know if you are a painter.
